Roles of wingless-related MMTV integration site 5B in type 2 diabetes mellitus

在本研究中，我们利用小鼠分离的胰岛，研究了无翼型乳腺肿瘤病毒整合位点家族成员5B(WNT5B)对胰岛素分泌的影响。WNT5B在胰岛中的过表达增加了胰岛素的基础分泌和葡萄糖诱导的胰岛素分泌，但不诱导胰岛素表达。从目前的研究来看，wnt5b可能通过调节胰岛胰岛素的分泌而参与2型糖尿病的进展。

In this study, we examined the effects of wingless-type mammary tumor virus integration-site family member 5B (WNT5B) on insulin secretion by using islets isolated from mouse. Overexpression of WNT5B in the islets increased both basal and glucose-induced insulin secretion from the islets, however, did not induce insulin expression. From the current study, wnt5b may be involved in the progression of type 2 diabetes by modulating insulin secretion from islets.
