In this study, it was clarified that production and perception of Japanese long vowels by Mandarin Chinese speaking learners of Japanese are affected by syllable structures of words. Particularly, it was suggested that for the first long vowels of words that include two long vowels, duration of the vowels are longer both at production and perception as long vowels, compared to words with different syllable structures. It was also indicated that learners' tendencies of production and perception of long vowels could differ depending on their length of residence in Japan.

本研究阐明，说普通话的日语学习者对日语长元音的产生和感知受到单词音节结构的影响。特别地，有人建议，对于包括两个长元音的单词的第一个长元音，与具有不同音节结构的单词相比，元音的持续时间在产生和感知为长元音时都更长。研究还表明，学习者对长元音的产生和感知的倾向可能因其在日本居住的时间长短而异。
