古代エジプトの木造船を対象とした調査で、寸法のデータを基にした分析からダハシュール船は4隻とも緻密に設計された船であることがわかり、このことはこれまでの既往研究において一部の学者から指摘されていた「所有者が王ではない」という考えに反論できる材料となった。また、実測図の比較を行うことで、使われた木材の数と形という点、さらに木目の観察から得られた知見から、同時期に造られたとされる4隻の船について差異が見られ、造船の工程がいくつかあった可能性が指摘された。

The ancient ship building is based on the investigation and analysis of the four dense ships.
