Through conducting this research project, the grantee followed the series of social psychological studies on authoritarian personality after 1950's, made Japanese translation of the Right Wing Authoritarian personality which has been developed in the 1980's but not known in Japan, and revealed the relationship between those personality scales and the social attitudes towards civic participation in the justice system. And the grantee shed some light on the relationships between basic personality traits like Big Five and authoritarian personality, and between judgments on some fictitious criminal cases, behavior during mock deliberation and authoritarian personality.Of course, those results of the studies have limitations like other studies general in the discipline, but this project could hew a new way of understanding the authoritarian personality and the relationship between the personalities and social attitudes towards civic participation in the justice system, and build a firm foundation for future researches on those topics.

通过开展本研究项目，研究对象跟踪了20世纪50年代以后关于威权人格的一系列社会心理学研究，对20世纪80年代发展起来但在日本不为人知的右翼威权人格进行了日文翻译，并揭示了这些人格量表与社会对公民参与司法制度的态度之间的关系。此外，研究者还揭示了大五人格等基本人格特质与权威人格之间的关系，以及对一些虚构的刑事案件的判断、模拟审议中的行为与权威人格之间的关系。当然，这些研究结果与该学科的其他研究一样具有局限性，但这个项目可以开辟一种新的方式来理解独裁者的个性和个性与社会对公民参与司法系统的态度之间的关系，为今后的研究打下坚实的基础。
