I conducted several empirical analyses on the relationship between wealth accumulation and health accumulation, using different kinds of Japanese individual data. The main results are as follows. First, individual preferences for time and risk are the important factors determining precautionary behaviors, which indeed changes health status. Second, the health-related activities, say food preparation, may be disturbed by mother' s labor force participation in lower middle classes. Third, parent' s unemployment deteriorates health condition of newborn babies. Fourth, the relationship between wealth and health is not a simple correlation, but a real causation from more wealth to better health.

我对财富积累和健康积累之间的关系进行了几次实证分析，使用了不同类型的日本个人数据。主要结果如下：首先，个人对时间和风险的偏好是决定预防行为的重要因素，这确实会改变健康状况。其次，与健康相关的活动，比如准备食物，可能会受到母亲在中下层参加劳动力的干扰。第三，父母失业恶化了新生儿的健康状况。第四，财富与健康的关系不是简单的相关关系，而是财富越多，健康越好这一真正的因果关系。
