Kitahara Taisaku(1906-1981), an activist and theorist of the liberation movement of 'Buraku problem' through the prewar and postwar-time in Japan, collected more than 3, 000 pieces of materials related to Buraku problem and compiled them as a private collection('Kitahara Taisaku Collection'). The collection has great significance for researchers to promote not only the historical studies of social movements but also the studies of Japanese modern and contemporary history. Firstly we reorganized the materials to preserve them in a better condition according to the complete enumeration. Simultaneously we have finished making the catalogue of the collection in order to make it open to the public in the near future. Then we have made bibliographical analysis of the part of the materials and introduced them on the academic journals. Some of the materials of the Kitahara collection already have been utilized in the published works on the history of social movements by researchers including our KAKEN group members.

北原大作（1906-1981）是战前和战后日本“宅问题”解放运动的活动家和理论家，他收集了3000多件与宅问题有关的资料，并将其汇编为私人收藏（“北原大作集”）。该合集不仅对推动社会运动史学研究，而且对日本近现代史研究具有重要意义。首先，我们根据完整的列举，对材料进行了重新整理，使其更好地保存。同时，我们已经完成了收藏目录的制作，以便在不久的将来向公众开放。然后对部分资料进行了书目分析，并在学术期刊上进行了介绍。包括我们的KAKEN小组成员在内的研究人员已经在出版的社会运动史著作中使用了北原收藏的一些材料。
