Study on the development of rubber plantation and sociocultural changes of the locals in Southern Laos

由越南橡胶公司和老挝人民民主共和国政府发起的橡胶种植园项目所带来的当地人的社会文化变化，并不是当局所期望的从农民向劳动者的转变，而是各种网络的追求，目的是为了继续生产大米或获得收入来源，以便购买他们过去自己生产的大米。某些文化因素，以及工作环境和就业条件，与这种情况有关。

Sociocultural changes of the locals that have been brought about by the rubber plantation project launched by the Vietnamese rubber companies and the government of Lao PDR, are revealed not to be a transition from peasants to laborers, as expected by the authority, but to be the pursuit of various networks with a view to continuing rice production or of sources of income in order to purchase rice which they used to produce by themselves. Certain cultural factors, as well as working environment and employment conditions, are relevant to this situation.
