In order to elucidate life phenomenon, novel sugar-related compounds(e. g., ether-linked sugars, Rebeccamycin derivatives) were efficiently synthesized. A new analytical method, which is utilizing SAM : Self-Assembled Monolayers, was also developed and was used for biological investigation.
