Development of educational training materials for extracorporeal circulation : ECCSIM, serious games, DVDs and incident-simulation devices

临床体外循环（ECC）中的事件/事故是罕见的，JaSECT报告其发生率为2%（2008-2009年期间59523例中有1161例）。安全教育和培训对手术室的灌注师和医疗团队成员都是必不可少的。对于灌注师来说，课堂学习和实践训练都是有效和重要的。该研究项目包括学习材料的开发和评价。为了进行性能评估，在实验ECC中采用了一个灌注模拟器，体外循环模拟器（ECCSIM - lite）。在日本人工器官学会（JSAO）的安全教育研讨会上，开发了ECC事件学习系列游戏和ECC实训事件模拟装置，并进行了应用。为灌注师制作了安全设备安装和安全程序的教育dvd，现在这些dvd可以从JSAO买到。同时，首次在日本手术室使用眼动仪分析灌注师在临床ECC中的表现。我们认为该研究项目的成果在教育灌注方面取得了优异的成绩。

Incidents/accidents during clinical extracorporeal circulation(ECC) are rare and its occurrence is reported by JaSECT as 2%(1161 out of 59523 cases during 2008-2009) in Japan. Safety education and training is indispensable for both perfusionists and medical team members in the OR. For both classroom learning and practical training is effective and important for perfusionists. This research project included development of learning materials and its evaluation. For performance evaluation, a perfusion simulator, Extra-Corporeal Circulation SIMulator(ECCSIM) was applied in ECCSIM-Lite style in the experimental ECC. Serial games to learn ECC incidents, an incident simulating device for practical training of ECC were developed and applied in a safety educational seminar of the Japanese Society for Artificial Organs(JSAO). Educational DVDs for safety equipment installation and safety procedures were produced for perfusionists, and now the DVDs are commercially available from JSAO. Also, the eye-tracking camera was used to analyze the performance of perfusionists during clinical ECC for the first time in the OR in Japan. We believe that the outcome of this research project achieved excellent results in educational perfusion.
