GATA4 forms a large complex with an intrinsic histone acetyltransferase, p300 and these factors are involved in transcriptional regulation during myocardial cell hypertrophy. Moreover, noble p300/GATA4 binding partners, Cdk9, Iin1, RbAp48, and RbAp46 form a functional complex with p300/GATA4 and suppress hypertrophic responses in cardiomyocytes.
