We isolated circulating tumor cells(CTCs) using CellSearch^<TM> in five cases of gastric cancer patients with disseminated carcinomatosis of bone marrow. Then, we could identify several candidate genes involved in pathogenesis of this disease, based on the result of gene expression profiling of collected CTCs. As CTCs in two patients remarkably increased and most of CTCs highly expressed HER2, we used' trastuzumab', the monoclonal antibody against HER2, combined with the chemotherapy, against these two patients. They had remission of DIC and long-term survival. Moreover, we could establish mouse xenograft model using CTCs obtained from two gastric cancer patients with disseminated carcinomatosis of bone marrow.

我们使用CellSearch^<TM>在5例伴有骨髓播散性癌病的胃癌患者中分离循环肿瘤细胞（CTC）。然后，我们可以确定几个候选基因参与这种疾病的发病机制，根据基因表达谱的结果收集CTC。由于两名患者的CTC显著增加，并且大多数CTC高度表达HER2，我们使用抗HER2单克隆抗体“曲妥珠单抗”与化疗联合治疗这两名患者。他们有DIC缓解和长期生存。此外，我们可以建立小鼠异种移植模型，从两个胃癌患者的骨髓播散性癌病的CTC。
