Direct ethanol production from biomass by basidiomycetes capable of fermenting various sugars into ethanol

本研究从一株白色腐菌Trametesversicolor和一株褐腐菌Neolentinuslepideus中分离鉴定出一株能高效发酵木糖的菌株。这两种真菌都是具有从各种碳水化合物生产乙醇能力的潜在生物。我们的研究结果表明，这些真菌与C5和C6糖发酵能力具有良好的平衡的转化系统，具有成本效益和环境友好的乙醇生产从木质纤维素生物质。

We newly isolated and identified a strain of the white rot fungus Trametes versicolor and a strain of the brown rot fungus Neolentinus lepideus that were capable of efficiency fermenting xylose. Both fungi are potential organisms with the ability to produce ethanol from various carbohydrates. Our findings suggest that these fungi with fermentability of C5 and C6 sugars possess well-balanced conversion systems for cost-effective and environmental friendly ethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass.
