時相論理をベースに,商品購買履歴(トランザクション)データベース上のアイテム集合に対して、ロングテール性と組み合わせ販売性を仮定したイベントの時間的性質を取り扱うために、Allen (1983)が提案した二つの時区間の相対的位置関係に基づく、データマイニング手法の数学的考察を行った。結果、Pawlak (1981),Lin (2002),Yao (2002)らが提唱した情報表の概念を用いることによって、時間データベースに記録されているイベントの時区間の相対的位置関係に関するデータマイニングは、Agrawal (1995)が提案したシーケンシャルパターンマイニングの数学的構造と同形であることが判明した。このことは、時間区間に関するマイニングが、通常のデータマイニング技術を使ったマイニングの結果の解釈として実現可能であることを保証するものであり、理論的実用的意義は大きいと言える。一方、本研究では、具体的なロングテールアイテム集合として、数万品種ある切花に着目し、花卉卸売市場の品種データと切花の取引データに対し,マイニング実験のためのデータベースを整備し、研究協力者の助言を得ながら、時間的関係や組合せ販売性に関するマイニングを実施した。これらの分析結果は、市場の動向分析として実務的ニーズに耐えうるとの示唆を得ることができた。しかしながら、現時点ではトランザクションデータベースに対して、ロングテールアイテムを出力する一連のシステムの実装までには至っておらず、今後の継続的研究が必要であるが、時区間マイニングに基づくロングテール性と組合せ販売性の分析が、データマイニング手法の新しい応用として実用となることが示されたことは意義がある。

Allen (1983) A mathematical study of the relationship between the relative positions of two time intervals. Results Pawlak (1981),Lin (2002),Yao (2002) and Agrawal (1995) found that the concept of information table is related to the relative positional relationship between time and space. The meaning of the theory is that it is possible to realize the solution of the problem by using the technology of time interval. In this study, the specific types of cut flowers were collected, and the types of cut flowers sold in the market were selected. The relationship between the types of cut flowers and the time was studied. The results of this analysis are as follows: In the future, it is necessary to study the basic characteristics and combination of marketing analysis and new methods of marketing.
