本研究では、母乳継続予測に関連する尺度を作成のための第1段階として、母乳育児行動に関連する要因・保健行動の詳細を検討することを目的とした。母親が母乳育児を行う際には、月齢が上がるに従い母乳育児の割合は減少することがわかっており、出産施設を退院後、早期に母乳育児継続が難しい対象を予測しその後の継続支援につなげることが重要と考える。今年度の研究では母乳育児の継続に関して重要と考えられる母親の母乳に対する態度、サポートの有無、母親個人の3要因に着目し研究をすすめた。母親が母乳育児を継続するのに重要と考えられる3要因【母乳育児行動に関連する母親の母乳育児に対する態度、サポート、個人の要因】及び、実際の母乳育児行動を起こすために必要な技能や資源等の要因・保健行動を探るために、面接法による質的研究を用いることとし、書籍・文献のレビューを行いインタビューガイドの検討をおこなった。研究参加者は育児サークル・子育て広場に来所している、1～4か月の乳児の養育する母親(母乳育児が継続できている母親4～5人・母乳育児の希望がありながら継続を断念した母親4～5名)とすることにした。平成21年度の本研究の研究計画に基づき、研究フィールドへの依頼を行った。A市の保健福祉局に研究の意義、目的説明を行った。また、A市保健医療スタッフへ母乳育児継続に関する理解を得てもらうために、母乳育児支援関連研究成果の情報提供を行えるようにフィールド担当者と調整した。これらの情報提供などをふまえて、今後の研究協力依頼を順次進めていく予定である。
