项目摘要

本研究は、中国・ミャンマー・タイ国境に跨って分布するラフ族の自他意識のあり方を探ることを目的としている。特に、研究蓄積の少ない中国雲南省において、ラフ族が現在どのような社会変容に直面し、その中でいかなる自己意識を紡いでいるのかを探る。本年度は、雲南民族大学に訪問学者として所属し、昨年度の不足を補うために長期フィールドワークを行う一年であった。調査期間は、2011年5月3日～10月9日、11月8日～3月10日の約9ヶ月間である。2011年5月3日～10日は、瀾槍県政府と竹塘郷政府において文書資料の収集に当たった。県全体の民族構成や各民族人口、竹塘郷の村落情報などを収集した。その後、2011年5月11日～10月9日はフィールドワークを実施した。調査の主なトピックは、昨年度得られた知見を踏まえて、ラフ族女性と漢族男性との新たな婚姻関係に定めた。中国では、1979年の計画生育政策の実施以降、跡継ぎとなる男児出産を重視する漢族のあいだで産児コントロールが行われ、男女比のバランスが崩れている。そうして生まれた嫁不足を補うように、多くの漢族男性たちがラフ族居住地域に嫁探しに訪れている。漢族と接する機会が増えていくなかで、ラフ族の自意識がどのような変容を遂げているのかに関心があった。そのため、村内で漢族との結婚によって婚出した女性の人数、年齢、学歴、婚出先、婚出の契機などをインタビューして歩いた。その結果、ちょうど改革開放と計画生育政策の実施時期に重なる1980年代から徐々に婚出が始まり、現在に至るまで計64人もの女性が婚出していることが明らかになった。(調査村の総世帯数は81世帯、総人口は135人)。主な婚出先は、江蘇省、江西省、安徽省、湖南省、河南省などの農村であった。また、ラフ族女性の甚だしい婚出はラフ族地域の嫁不足も引き起こし、それを補うように、国境を越えてミャンマーに嫁探しに行く者が現れ始めていることを知った。特に、文化大革命の時期に国外逃亡した親戚がいる者がネットワークのハブになり、新たな国境間関係が活発になりつつあった。2011年10月10日からは一度昆明に戻り、データ整理と資料収集を行った。特に、ラフ族女性が多く混入している地域の人口統計を収集した。2011年10月15日からは、漢族と結婚して安徽省に住むラフ族女性を訪ね、彼女たちが婚出したときの状況、婚出の方法、現在の生活に対する彼女たちの考え方などについて聞き取りを行った。その後、2011年11月8日からは再び調査地に移動し、フィールドワークを継続した。この時期には、漢族と結婚した女性や、嫁を得られず出稼ぎに行っている高齢独身男性たちが春節のために里帰りするため、彼らの結婚観や恋愛観について聞き取りを行った。これらのデータをもとに、来年度は博士論文の執筆に専念する予定である。
