项目摘要

運動する視覚刺激の情報処理に関し,鳥類とヒトで比較を行うことにより,鳥類やヒトにおける視覚情報処理の性質は何かを考察すること,及び当該認知機能の系統発生的制約と生態的制約を理解し,ヒトの視覚情報処理を系統発生的な視点から捉え直すことの検討が目的であった。本年度は,昨年度まで取り組んできた,運動刺激を用いた視覚探索課題におけるハトとヒトの比較研究を,引き続き実施した。回転螺旋パタン刺激による拡大・縮小運動の知覚に関して,昨年度に実施した実験を,より詳細に検討することを行った。ハトでもヒト同様に拡大・縮小運動の探索非対称が生じることを示唆する昨年度の結果を支持する結果を得た。拡大・縮小運動に関するoptic flowの知覚が,ヒト以外の動物においても重要なものである可能性が考えられた。さらに,最終年度ということで,一連の研究に関する取りまとめをおこなった。運動刺激の特性の違いにより,「観察者に対する事物の接近・離反の認識」に関わると考えられる刺激に対してはハトとヒトの間で類似した結果が得られ,「運動による事物の認識」に関わると考えられる刺激に対しては顕著な種差が見られた。今年度内の研究成果として,鳥類の視知覚研究に関する英語論文を1つ発表した(Journal of Comparative Psychology誌)。また,英文学術著書のチャプターの1つが公刊された。さらに別の英文学術著書チャプター2つが受理され,現在印刷中となっている。学会等において5件の発表を行い,そのうちの一つが,2011年度日本基礎心理学会優秀発表賞を受賞した(発表タイトル:ハトにおける拡大・縮小運動の探索非対称性)。現在は,これまでに実施した研究を数本の論文にまとめている。

At present, there are several papers on the study of this topic.
