项目摘要

近世能楽史の究明を目的として、徳川御三卿旧蔵資料を調査した。徳川御三卿は、幕府御抱え役者の有力な後援者として能楽界に少なからぬ影響力を持っていたことが知られ、その旧蔵資料を調査することで江戸後期能楽界の様相を窺い知ることが出来ると考えられるためである。本研究の特色は膨大な歴史資料を調査対象とした点にあり、これにより従来の能楽資料を中心とした断片的な考察に、歴史的な裏付けを与えることが可能となる。一橋家については、昨年度収集した写真資料を翻刻し、当該データの論文化を進めた。中でも近代一橋家の日記に、明治期の能界や一橋家旧蔵の能装束、徳川家周辺の能楽愛好の様子などを示す有用な記事が見られたため、計画段階では対象外としていたが、今年度も調査を継続した。調査は、茨城県立歴史館所蔵の近代一橋家日記108冊から能楽に関わる記事を抽出し、デジタルカメラで撮影をした。その成果の一部は平成23年1月24日の能楽学会例会(於早稲田大学)で「明治期の華族と謡講-一橋徳川家旧蔵史料をもとに-」の題目で発表し、近代一橋家日記に見える能楽関連記事の概略や、謡講の具体的な記事、明治17～40年頃にかけて徳川宗家・田安家・一橋家・徳川慶喜・蜂須賀家・酒井忠惇等を中心に十徳会なる謡講の会が催されていたこと等について報告した。また近世についても、田安家旧蔵『獻英楼畫叢』の注記と一橋家日記の演能記録が一致することや、文政十年から文久二年に一橋家に出入りしていた役者名、および演能記録が明らかになっている。さらに国文学研究資料館「田藩文庫」の能楽関連資料の収集・整理も行なったので、それぞれ成果がまとまり次第発表する予定である。なお清水家については、旧蔵資料が所在不明のため調査は行なっていない。以上
