西鶴浮世草子において岡山藩の諸伝がどのように取り上げられ作品化されたかを明らかにするべく、以下の研究を行った。まず、素材となった実在事件・人物を特定するための基礎作業として、前年度に引き続き、岡山藩関連主要文献の調査を行った。具体的には、『池田家履歴略記』や池田家文庫のマイクロ諸資料をもとに、藩中の事件・政策に関する主要情報を収集した。また、その取り組みと並行して、西鶴浮世草子(武家物・雑話物)を対象とし、岡山藩中の出来事を意識したと考えられるものを洗い出した。それらを検討した結果、『懐硯』(貞享4年刊)の中に、岡山藩士の殺人事件を下敷きとした章(巻五の三)があることが判明、その創作手法を分析することで作品全体に貫通する〈「仁政」への風刺〉の一端を解明し得た。要点は次の(1)～(3)の通りである。(1)西鶴は一話の最後に、作中で殺害された武士の妹の「孝」を描くが、そこで話を終わらせず、兄の哀れな死を強調して幕を閉じている。(2)兄の殺害場面は、先行研究で指摘されていた江戸での「水野だまし討ち事件」(水野十郎左衛門による幡随院長兵衛の殺害)のみならず、備前岡山で生じた「水野だまし討ち事件」(水野定之進による安宅彦一郎の殺害)をも意識したものであり、当時知られた類似の事件を組み合わせたところにこそ、西鶴の工夫があった。(3)二つの事件が生じた地は、仁政を志す将軍のお膝元(江戸)と、地方随一の仁政実現地(備前岡山)であった。西鶴の狙いは、単に「仁政」に反する世の有様を描くだけでなく、本文の先に「仁政」の地で生じた実在の凶悪事件を透かし見せ、その矛盾を風刺するところにあった。この研究成果については平成22年度関西大学国文学会(平成22年12月18日、於:関西大学)において口頭発表を行い、現在論文を執筆中である。

(2)Brother's murder scene was first studied, and the "Mizuno incident"(the murder of Mizuno Saemon) was first investigated. The "Mizuno incident"(the murder of Yasuya Hikichiro) was first investigated. At that time, it was known that similar incidents were organized. (3)The second event was born in the ground, and the benevolent government was determined by the general's knee (river), and the local government was determined by the benevolent government (prepared for the mountain). In this article, the author of "Benevolent Government" first describes the situation of the world, and then describes the contradiction between the two. Research results of this research were published in the Japanese Language Society of Kansai University (December 18, 2012, Kansai University).
