项目摘要

今年度の学会発表をもとに執筆し、投稿受理された論文「平安朝物語の婚姻居住形態-『源氏物語』の「据ゑ」をめぐって-」は、国文学の分野においてあまり言及されてこなかった従来の婚姻居住形態に関する議論を、物語の方法として捉え直すことを目的としたものである。本論文では、当時の婚姻居住形態に関する議論について改めて整理を行い、これまで妻としての疵と捉えられるのみであった「据ゑ」の形態について、物語の描かれ方に即して検討を加えた上で、『源氏物語』の独自性とその先駆としての『蜻蛉日記』の存在を指摘した。また、今年度に発表した論文「『源氏物語』の初妻重視-葵の上の「添臥」をめぐって-」では、古記録等の調査により「添臥」についての通説に再検討を加え、さらに『源氏物語』における「添臥」の語の使用方法が、光源氏の両義性を照射する優れた方法となっていたことに着目し、それを手がかりに物語に語られる初妻重視の思想について考察した。さらに、今年度末に予定していた研究会発表(震災の影響により中止)は、物語に散見する婿選びの際の登場人物の発言を取り上げ、このような記述をもとに実際に平安朝の婚姻慣習を炙り出そうとするような方法を退け、その描かれ方をこそ問題にすべきであると主張するものであった。具体的には若菜下巻の蛍宮と真木柱の結婚記事を端緒として、当該場面直後に置かれる代替わり記事と女三の宮物語との繋がりや、光源氏の地位を揺さぶり物語を展開していく当該巻の手法について検討した上で、蛍宮と真木柱の結婚記事と上記のような若菜巻の論理との関連を指摘するものである。以の研究により、婚姻研究という視点を通して、平安朝の各作品相互の交渉や『源氏物語』の独自性の一端を浮かび上がらせることができたと考えている。
