The General Examination and Networking toward the Introduction of Basic Income in Japan

This study generally examined three purposes of basic income through the arguments that are generated by networking of researchers and citizens. First, we explicated the demanding grounds of basic income; the right to subsistence, citizenship, reciprocity, publicness, feminist thinking. Second, we considered the political and financial feasibility of basic income. Third, we discussed the problems of current income security systems that are mainly composed of pension and public assistance, and the direction of reforming current systems toward basic income.
