We have conducted a longitudinal survey "The Tokyo Oldest old Survey on Total Health(TOOTH)" since 2008. The data for three waves was analyzed focusing on the variation and stabilization of well-being in Fourth Age, because physical and cognitive functions are decreased and social relationship is reduced in comparison with in Third Age. The results showed that well-being was not decrease but stabilized, whereas other functions such as cognitive function was decreased over 85 years old. The result of hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that decrease of physical function and poor state of the economy could be risk factors for well-being. On the other hand, social relationship indicated by the size of social network, social support, or social activities was supposed to contribute to well-being in Forth Age.

自2008年以来，我们进行了一项纵向调查“东京最古老的老年人全面健康调查”。分析了三波的数据，重点是第四年龄段幸福感的变化和稳定，因为与第三年龄段相比，身体和认知功能下降，社会关系减少。结果表明，85岁以上老年人幸福感没有下降，而是趋于稳定，而认知功能等其他功能则有所下降。分层多元回归分析结果显示，身体机能下降和经济状况不佳可能是影响幸福感的危险因素。另一方面，由社会网络、社会支持或社会活动的规模所表示的社会关系被认为有助于第四时代的幸福感。
