チベット仏教ゲルク派における論証学とその思想史的・文化的背景を明らかにすることを目的として、ジャムヤンシェーパ・ガワンツォンドゥ作『量評釈考究』『般若波羅蜜多・第一章考究』に依拠し、以下の点を明らかにするべく考察を行なった。[1]ジャムヤンシェーパが考える論証の機能、対論者の役割、その思想史的背景。[2]ジャムヤンシェーパが自身の議論の中で用いるレトリック、その根底にある思想。[3]ジャムヤンシェーパの著作中に挿入される一連の美文詩が持つ意義、また、彼特有の難解な文体の起源。[1]第一については『量評釈考究』冒頭27フォリオの英訳研究(UMA Institute for Tibetan Studiesのプロジェクトの一環)、『量評釈考究』『第一章考究』などに見られる「ふさわしい対論者」という概念についての考察(英語論文の出版に向けて準備中)、タンサクパ作『明句論疏』の写本の冒頭26フォリオの校訂・出版(チベット文字による組版、吉水千鶴子教授[筑波大学]との共著)に従事した。[2]第二については『第一章考究』に現れる弥勒をめぐる言明(「弥勒は仏陀ではなく、菩薩でもないが、論書作者としての弥勒は仏陀である」)の解釈、その背景にある独特の弥勒信仰(「弥勒の本地は仏陀であるが、菩薩という仮の姿を取って衆生救済を行なっている」)、その弥勒信仰の意義について検討し、その成果を第5回北京国際チベット学会(北京、蔵学研究中心)にて発表した。[3]第三については『第一章考究』に挿入される美文詩とその文体に着目し、ムゲ・サムテン作『第一章考究美文詩の註釈』『光明の蔵』を参照し、ジャムヤンシェーパの詩論の特色、彼の詩の文体とインドのガウダ様式との近似性について明らかにした。その成果を第3回国際若手チベット学者会議(神戸市外国語大学)、平成24年度広島哲学会(広島大学)で発表した。
