项目摘要

本研究の目的は、「ナショナリズムと『文明化』の相克・融和のメカニズム」について、日本・フィンランドを主要なフィールドに、比較・歴史社会学的な考察を行うことである。本年は1年目ということから、先行研究の批判的読解、資料収集・分析を重視した活動を行った。特に、フィンランドの歴史学者A. Komilainenの研究に着目し、「文明」への所属の承認をめぐって、近代フィンランド社会で生じた現象と、近代日本で生じた現象について、比較社会学的視点から検討を行うことを目指した。特に、Kemilainenの研究の中でも、「19世紀～20世紀初めにかけ、ヨーロッパの周辺に位置するフィンランド社会において、『ヨーロッパ』への所属の証明をめぐってどのような戦略が生じたか、また、どのようにしてセルフ・イメージを構築していったか」ということにかんするものを中心に検討を行った。研究成果としては、本年度は、共著書『The East and the Idea of Europe』(Katalin Miklossy and Pekka Korhonen編、Cambridge Scholars Publishing)、諭文「Kojunsha and the Shinshi Image」(『Harukaze』5、Oulu University、Finland)、ワーキングペーパー「フィンランドにおけるナショナル・アイデンティティの構築と公共圏の再編」(京都大学GCOEプログラム)などを発表した。従来、日本の近代化・文明化過程を検証する際の比較参照軸は、英仏米など、近代化・文明化のモデルとして採用された地域に偏重していたが、本研究のように「周縁」で起きた現象の比較に注目することにより、従来の比較研究では取り逃されてきた側面を明らかにすることができたと思われる。

The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative study of historical sociology in Japan. This year, we will focus on critical analysis, data collection and analysis of advanced research. A. A. A. Komilainen's research focuses on the recognition of "civilization", the emergence of modern society, the emergence of modern Japan, and the perspective of comparative sociology. In particular, Kemilainen's research is in the middle of the discussion,"From the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, the position of the circumference of the circle, the social environment, the proof of the ownership of the circle, the construction of the circle, the construction of the circle," and the discussion of the center of the circle. This year, he co-authored the book "The East and the Idea of Europe"(edited by Katalin Miklossy and Pekka Korhonen, Cambridge Scholars Publishing), the essay "Kojunsha and the Shinshi Image"("Harukaze" 5, Oulu University, Finland), and the presentation of the book "The East and the Idea of Europe"(Kyoto University GCOE). The comparative reference axis for the verification of the modernization and civilization process in Japan and the United States is the emphasis on the use of regional factors. The comparative study of the phenomenon of "weekly changes" in this study is focused on the comparison of the bottom of the process.
