项目摘要

本年度は、昨年度研究した19世紀後半のピアノ教育における「様式」と「メカニスム」の概念が実作品にいかに反映されているかを明確にすべく、1850年から70年までにパリ音楽院教育委員会で採用又は推薦されたピアノ練習曲を同委員会の議事録に基づいて調査し、一覧を作成した。これら約70点の教材の標題中には「様式」「メカニスム」の語が少なからず見受けられる。そこで、その最初期の例として音楽院出身のピアニスト兼作曲家によって1850年代初期に出版された下記3作品の事例について研究した。1.A.ゴリア(1823～1860):《様式とメカニスムの6つの芸術的大練習曲》作品63(1851)、2.ゴリア《現代のピアニスト:様式とメカニスムの練習曲》(1854)、3.H.ラヴィーナ(1818～1906):《25の訓練課題兼練習曲》作品28(1852)。ゴリアの二つの練習曲は、各曲に行進曲や舞曲等の音楽ジャンルを示すタイトルが付されており、明確な性格をもち、過度に難しい技巧は避けられている。一方、「訓練課題exercices」というタイトルが示すようにラヴィーナの作品28は指の反復訓練に重点を置きつつも、旋律、和声が入念に書かれ、行進曲、歌曲など楽曲ジャンルを示唆する楽想記号が多用されている。つまり、各曲の「様式」の一貫性を確保するために音楽ジャンルを導入し、これを体系的な指の訓練と結びつけることで、彼らは「様式」・「メカニスム」両側面の重要性のバランスを図った。同時代の作曲家P.ベルナール(1825～1879)を始め、当時の教育者たちはこの種の練習曲が古典作品の簡潔な形式、書法に馴染むために最適な教材と見做している。つまり、19世紀中葉以降、ピアノ練習曲は演奏能力の極限に挑む高度な技巧の探究を目的としなくなり、作品の「様式」理解を生徒に促すジャンルとして位置づけられるようになった。
