本研究の目的は大規模アブラヤシ農園開発に代わる焼畑地域固有の価値基準に基づく地域発展の検討を目的としている。目的達成のための課題として1.大規模アブラヤシ農園開発が計画されているB村において、生活実態調査を実施し、村人の多様な価値基準を明らかにすること、2.すでにアブラヤシ生産を導入したD村で同様の生活実態調査を実施し、アブラヤシ生産導入による焼畑社会への影響を明らかにすること、3.課題1と2の成果をもとに、B村村人と今後の発展の方向性、具体的は発展方策を議論し、それをサポートするための政策提言を構築すること、の3つを掲げていた。本年度の研究実施計画として、1.調査結果(課題1、2)のまとめと公表(日本熱帯生態学会、環境社会学会において学会発表)、2.約一か月のフィールドワークの実施による補足データの収集、3.論文執筆と研究結果をアカデミズムの世界へ還元、4.B村の具体的発展方策の検討と政策提言の作成、を計画していた。1に関しては計画通り、日本熱帯生態学会および環境社会学会において研究発表を行った。2に関しては計画通り、2012年2月～3月にかけて約1か月のフィールドワークを実施し、補足的な調査を実施した。3に関しては課題1の一部を国際学会誌へ論文を投稿することはできたが、使用できていない調査結果が多く、十分な形で投稿論文化できていないと感じている。4に関してはNGOニュースレター、本の分担執筆において具体的な発展方策を検討し提示、政策提言している。しかし、まだ、実際の現場(B村およびインドネシア政府)への発展方策、政策提言は十分に行えていないと感じている。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of large-scale agricultural development based on the criteria inherent in the region. 1. Implementation of large-scale agricultural development plan, living condition survey, village diversity assessment criteria, 2. Implementation of large-scale agricultural development plan, introduction of large-scale agricultural development plan, living condition survey, introduction of large-scale agricultural development plan, village diversity assessment criteria, 3. Achievements of 1 and 2. B. The orientation and specific development strategy of the village people in the future shall be discussed, and the policy proposal shall be constructed. Research implementation plan for this year: 1. Survey results (topics 1 and 2) and tables (presented by Japan Thermal Ecology Society and Society of Environmental Society); 2. Complementary data collection for approximately one month of research implementation; 3. Paper writing and research results; 4. Specific development strategy discussion and policy proposal formulation and planning for B Village. 1. Research and development plan of Japan Thermal Ecology Society and Environmental Society 2. The investigation was conducted in February and March 2012. 3. One of the papers on topic 1 was submitted to the journal of the International Academy of Sciences. The results of the survey were numerous and varied. The contributions were cultural. 4. NGO's contribution to development and policy development The development strategy and policy proposal of the actual site (B village and government) are very important to the implementation of the project.
