本研究では、A.説得事態の送り手はどのような言語的・非言語的チャネルを用いてメッセージを伝達するのか、B.どのような送り手のコミュニケーション特徴が受け手に影響を与えるのかを明らかにするために、(a)会話実験、(b)コミュニケーション特徴の抽出、(c)効果性の検証という3つのステップを踏む。本年度は、まず昨年度の研究結果の再分析を行い結果の吟味を行った。その結果、他者を説得しようと働きかける場合には、アダプターを会話初期に抑制し、連帯性を示す発話を統制条件よりも初期により行い、自分の意見を相手に述べるだけではなく相手の意見も尋ねた一方、方向づけを与えたり、方向づけを求める発話が統制条件よりも少なくなった。また、男性は説得条件でジェスチャーを多く用いるが、会話の半ばや後半でうなずきを増加させていた。すなわち、他者を説得する場合には、メッセージを伝達するという自己への注意に対する行動だけではなく、他者へも注意を分散させ相手に配慮するという行動も確認された。次に、(c)について検討を行った結果、説得しようと働きかける場合に、相手の態度を変化させるためには、説得の論拠の提示となりうる意見を述べる発話行動と他者の自律性を暗に認めながら方向づける示唆を与える発話行動の影響力が大きく、示唆や方向づけを求めるといった相手への質問である発話行動、自己の態度を表明したり、相手に注意を払う機能を持つ視線行動が有効であることが示された。また、説得しようと働きかける場合に、親しみやすさを高めるには、ジェスチャーを使用し、相手に賛同を示すことが有効であることが示された。以上の結果から、たとえば、交渉場面などのようにお互いにメッセージを交換し合う双方向的なコミュニケーションを行う際に、どのような対人コミュニケーション・チャネルを使用すれば効果的であるのかについての示唆が得られたといえるであろう。
