项目摘要

水中で生活するハクジラ類は、クリックス、ホイッスル、低周波パルス音など音響特性の大きく異なる多様な音声をコミュニケーションに用いている。本研究では、ハクジラ亜目の多様で複雑な社会構造に着目し、音声信号の変化によってハクジラ亜目の複雑な社会構造を維持することが可能になったという仮説を検証する。そのため、クリックス、ホイッスル、低周波パルス音のそれぞれをコミュニケーションに用いる以下の3種(ガンジスカワイルカ、アマゾンカワイルカ、シャチ)を対象に、音声の機能、進化系統的な位置関係、社会構造の違いを比較する。本年度はアマゾンカワイルカ、シャチの音声データの取得、解析を行った。(1)アマゾンカワイルカの音声・行動データの取得・解析2012年1-3月にブラジル、Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve内のアマゾン川に生息するアマゾンカワイルカの個体群を対象として調査を行った。本調査では、定点型音響データロガーを3か所に設置し、アマゾンカワイルカのクリックスとコミュニケーション音声を録音した。同時にボートを用いて目視調査を行い、調査地内の個体数のセンサス、ID調査、行動観察を行った。また、チリ、プンタアレナス近海に生息するイロワケイルカの野生個体群を対象の調査を行った。本調査では、ゴムボートからステレオ式音響データロガーを用いてイロワケイルカのクリックスを録音し、同時に写真を用いたID調査と行動観察を行った。これまでの調査結果から、アマゾンカワイルカは主に単独で遊泳することや、日周的な行動パターンを示し、社会行動を含むような活発な行動が夕方に行われていることなどが示唆された。(2)野生下シャチの音声・行動データの取得・解析2011年10月に北海道、釧路沖に生息する野生シャチの個体群を対象として調査を行った。本調査では、水中マイクを使用し、シャチのコミュニケーション音声を録音した。また、同時に船上からの行動観察と個体識別用写真の撮影を行った。これらのデータは現在解析中である。
