本研究は、1)ある個人のスピリチュアルな危機からの回復を、聖地という特定の場所に焦点をあて、その場所とのかかわり方と癒しの関係について、宗教的視点だけではなく、医療的視点も取り入れて分析する、2)現代の聖地における新しい癒しのあり方について考察し、メディカル・ツーリズムという視点も取り入れて、具体的な提言をおこなうことを目的としている。本年度は以下のような活動を実施した。1、研究成果の発表(科学研究費補助金使用)2011年度までの現地調査の成果と図書館等での先行研究の整理をもとに、本年度は「トラウマ経験と記憶の組織化をめぐる領域横断的研究」研究会で発表をおこなった。その後、定期的に参加し、知見を深め、研究者とも交流をしていった。また、2012年に刊行された『世界宗教百科典』および『聖地巡礼ツーリズム』にも執筆をおこなった。さらに、英国でのフィールドワークから得たデータを整理・分析したうえで執筆した論文を、「宗教と社会」学会の学会誌『宗教と社会』に投稿し、採用が決定された。2、京都大学人間・環境学研究科の文化人類学ゼミに参加(科学研究費補助金使用)研究者の出身大学のゼミに定期的に参加し、知見を深めるとともに、研究者と交流し、関係を深めた。2012年10月には発表もおこなった。
