本年度は'A 'betrayal' of feminists' achievements?: Teaching domestic subjects in English girls' secondary education,1893-1900'(第6回日英歴史家会議、Master classes for postgraduates、2009年9月13日、於東京大学)と「イギリス女子中等教育における家庭科教育の導入-マンチェスタ女子ハイ・スクール1893～1900-」(史学会第107回大会西洋史部会個別報告、2009年11月8日、於東京大学)の研究報告をもとに、投稿論文の執筆に取り組んだ。この論文は2008年秋と2009年秋にイギリスにおいて実施した史料調査をふまえ、19世紀イギリス女子中等教育史において研究の不足する世紀転換期の時代性とイングランド北部マンチェスタの地域性を、中等教育への家庭科の導入を切り口に分析する。同時に、『オックスフォード国民伝記事典』(2004年)のサラ・バーストールの項目が象徴するフェミニスト・イデオロギーにもとづく家庭科の導入への非難にたいし、導入の要因を校長の教育観だけでなく、生徒側の教育要求への対応としての学校経営という新たな研究視角からも検証した。現在、最終的な投稿の準備中である。また、2009年秋にイギリスで当該研究の第一人者の一人、ジェーン・マーティン教授(ロンドン大学教育研究所)と面談を行ったことをふまえ、マーティン教授の助言に従って最新の研究動向の把握につとめた。これらは国際比較や伝記的アプローチ、ブルデューの分析概念の適用など、新たな研究視角を提示する示唆に富むものである。さらに、マーティン教授の勧めにしたがい、2009年秋の史料調査の成果のうち、同時期の女性校長協会の年次報告書と教育院の調査報告書をもちいて、同時期の校長全体の活動状況の全体的特徴を明らかにすることに取り組んでいる。

This year 'A 'betrayal' of feminists' achievements?: Teaching domestic subjects in English girls' secondary education,1893-1900'(6th Japanese Historian Conference, Master classes for postgraduates, September 13, 2009, Tokyo University)"Introduction of Family Science Education for Girls in Junior High Schools-Girls in 1893~1900-"(Individual Report of the Western History Section of the 107th Congress of the History Society, November 8, 2009, University of Tokyo) This paper analyzes the historical data investigation of the history of girls 'secondary education in the autumn of 2008 and the autumn of 2009, the shortage of research on the history of girls' secondary education in the 19th century, the epochal characteristics of the century, the regional characteristics of the north, and the introduction of family science in secondary education. At the same time, the "National Records Dictionary"(2004) shows the characteristics of family education projects, the main causes of family education, the educational requirements of principals, the educational requirements of students, and the new research perspectives of school management. Now, Final submission preparation is in progress. In the autumn of 2009, when the first person in the study, Professor Zhang Jiechi (Institute of Education, University of Hong Kong) interviewed him and helped him to grasp the latest research trends. This paper discusses the application of analytical concepts in international comparative studies and suggests new research perspectives. The results of the historical data survey conducted in the autumn of 2009, the annual report of the Association of Female Principals and the survey report of the Institute of Education in the same period, and the overall characteristics of the activities of all principals in the same period are described.
