项目摘要

平成24年度は、投稿論文の執筆、ベトナムにおける資料収集とフィールドワークを行った。『ことばと社会』14号に掲載された論文では、ベトナム北部ホアビン省P行政村のムオン人祈祷師たちによるムオン語文字化の契機等を考察し、1960年代、1970年代を中心に、社会主義政権により祈祷が禁止された時代があったことが、祈祷師の育成方法の変化、さらには祈祷師たちが自言語をローマ字で自ら表記し、祈祷を文字化する動きにつながったこと等を明らかにした。ベトナム国家図書館等での資料収集では、「風俗改造」、「新しい生活様式」運動に関する政策文書や報告書、ベトナム民間文芸会の「ベトナム各民族の民間文化・文芸遺産の出版と普及」プロジェクトによる出版物等を収集した。(文字化の背景としてある)1945年以降の文化・宗教・民族政策による少数民族の儀礼の変化を跡付けるための資料を得た他、ムオン人、ザオ人が自言語を自ら文字化して出版することの意義の変遷を把握することができた。バクザン省ソンドン県のザオ人の居住村にて行ったフィールドワークでは、ザオ人たちが漢字のザオ語読みを若い世代に伝承するため、それをローマ字で表記し文字化している状況を調査した。1950年代後半以降の、ローマ字習得の重視、自文化に対する否定的な見方等によって漢字を理解できるザオ人が減少したこと、近年、少数民族文化への再評価の動きを受けて、漢字を次世代に継承できていないことに対する危機感がザオ人自身に生まれていることもわかった。本研究により、ムオン人、ザオ人、いずれの事例でも、自言語の文字化には、社会主義化以降の文化・民族・宗教政策の変遷が大きく関係していること、すなわち、少数民族文化に対する否定的評価がなされた時代があったこと、ドイモイ以降の少数民族文化「復興」の動きが要因の一つとなり、自言語を文字化する需要が生まれたことが明らかになった。
