本研究の目的は、近世琉球弧におけるシマ社会-庶民生活-の諸相を明らかにし、その知的成果を、広く社会と共有することにあった。本件では主題を「近世琉球弧における経世済民社会の諸相一八重山諸島の民衆生活を事例として-」と設定、[1]近世琉球弧における自然と人々の関わり[2]庶民の相互行為一関係性の実態と変遷[3]災害時におけるシマ社会内外の取り決めごとの諸相、以上、3点のテーマについて解明を試みた。概要としては、「経世済民」「琉球弧」「シマ社会」といったキイワードをもとに、八重山諸島の「地理」「風水(風土)」「生業」「祭祀」について論考したものと表される。具体的には、近世琉球弧(文化圏)の庶民の暮らし、とりわけ八重山諸島の人々の生活が、現在に至るまでにいかなる変遷を辿ったか、検証する内容であった。特別研究員DC1の最終年度となる今期は、学位論文を完成させることに専念した。計画としては[1]諸論文の内容を目次に沿って仕分け再編する。ここに[2]別資料から得た新たな情報の加筆や、細部への修正を実施、[3]主題と全体の整合性を確認しつつ、徹底した検証を行う。そして[4]草稿を5月までに書き上げる。さらに[5]博士出願論文提出に向け修正を行ない、[6]学位論文を9月末(期限内)に完成させる、というものであった。計画は順次解消、9月には実際に仕上げた拙論「近世琉球弧における経世済民社会の諸相一八重山諸島の庶民の生活を事例として-」(語句を一部変更)を、法政大学大学院へ提出した。その後、口頭審査を経て3月24日に博士号(学術)を取得した。ちなみに今年度は『法政大学大学院紀要』に拙論(2本)が掲載された。さらに11月3日、仏国で開催された国際シンポジウムに出席、本研究に関連するテーマの報告を行なった(別項詳述)。またこれらの実績を踏まえ、2013年度は法政大学社会学部の[比較文化論]担当(兼任講師)も決定した。

He is the director (part-time lecturer) of [Comparative Cultural Theory] in the Department of Sociology of Hosei University in 2013.
