According to our investigation program consisting of rereading theoretical works of natural history and anthropological thoughts published in the 18th and 19th century, we clarified the process of formation of the concept of "race" with a scientific status, and its cultural repercussions on the representation of "Black" and "Orient" in French literary works in the 19th century.We also made a basic study of the "philomatic societies" such as "Societe des Observateurs de l' homme"(high-level multidisciplinary scientific and philosophical society), in order to examine their relationship with the development of colonial ideologies.

通过重读18、19世纪的博物学理论著作和人类学思想的考察，阐明了具有科学地位的“种族”概念的形成过程，以及它对19世纪法国文学作品中“黑人”和“东方”形象的再现所产生的文化影响，并对19世纪法国文学作品中“黑人”和“东方”形象的再现作了初步的探讨。在这方面，委员会建议设立一个高级别的多学科科学和哲学学会，如“人类观察家学会”，以审查它们与殖民意识形态发展的关系。
