Far visual acuity and near visual acuity are necessary to push forward school education smoothly. Only a far visual acuity test is carried out at school now. We clarified that the measures of the child with various "problems of the eyesight" were impossible only by a far visual acuity test. Time, labor, expense was a minimum, and we devised simple near visual acuity test with the reliability to introduce near visual acuity test into the actual school activities. The prevention against eyesight fall and the effect of improvement on eyesight were accepted for asthenopia improvement training. We aimed promotion of the diffusion of simple near visual acuity tests and asthenopia improvement training, and we collected epidemiologic data at the same time.

远视力和近视力是顺利推进学校教育的必要条件。现在学校只进行远视力检查。我们澄清说，儿童的措施与各种“问题的视力”是不可能的，只有一个远视力测试。本研究以最少的时间、人力、费用，设计出简易且具有可靠性的近视力测验，将近视力测验引入实际的学校活动中。对视力下降的预防和视力提高的效果进行视疲劳改善训练。目的是推广简易近视力检查和视疲劳改善训练，同时收集流行病学资料。
