Identification of animal remains, shells or bones, unearthed from shell mounds is fundamental in zooarchaeological method towards the reconstruction of Jomon livelihood. Though abundantly unearthed, fish bones are difficult to identify compared to other vertebrates, because of wide variety of skeletal elements and species richness. This research focuses prevalent species from archaeological sites mainly in Kanto, and compile skeletal graphics of jaws and/or vertebrae (first through third) which are effective for identification. Compiled graphics and added meta-information are to compose a database to consult via the Internet.

从贝壳土丘中出土的动物遗骸、贝壳或骨骼的鉴定是重建绳纹人生计的动物考古学方法的基础。虽然大量出土，但与其他脊椎动物相比，鱼骨很难识别，因为骨骼元素种类繁多，物种丰富。本研究主要集中在关东考古遗址的流行物种，并汇编颌骨和/或椎骨（第一至第三）的骨骼图形，这是有效的识别。编辑的图形和添加的元信息将组成一个数据库，通过互联网进行查询。
