In Kyusyu(九州) and Chugoku(中国) area, we can see Toubou(唐坊) or Toujinmachi(唐人町),the name of a place which denotes a settlement of foreigners in medieval time. By this research, first, I considered the problems of former researches. And then I carried out fieldworks in various places. I also carried out a comparative study with Okinawa(沖縄) or Southeast Asia, especially focusing onregional space composition. Moreover, I investigated how Bounotsu(坊津),well known as an international trade port, would have been evaluated, for the development of future research.
