Community structures of vent associated decapod crustaceans (e.g. bythograeid crab, alvinocaridid shrimps, grapsid crab) distributed in Izu-Bonin and Marina Arcs were investigated using by DNA barcoding to identify species and similarities between communities analyzed by Jaccard index. Remote operated vehicle and manned submersible were used to find new localities of vent communities and to sample live animals to examine its larval development through long-term raring experiment. Based on these data sets, I examined to find key factors contributing species diversity of vent associated animals.
