Novel non-toxic Ti-based bulk metallic glasses with high corrosion resistance, high strength and good bioactivity have been fabricated by copper mold casting in this research. Using a hydrothermal-electrochemical treatment, a bioactive porous TiO_2 surface layer with high concentration of Ti has been fabricated on the surface of novel Ti-based metallic glasses. Consequently, pre-calcification treatment and immersion in Hanks solution accelerate the formation of hydroxyapatite on the surface of pretreated metallic glasses.
