Theoretical and Empirical Studies on the interaction between Business Innovation Activities and Market Competition

This study have theoretically explored under what conditions firms competing in international oligopolistic markets engage strategically in research and development activity in foreign countries. In consequence, we obtain some results about it. Also, we have empirically analyzed innovation activities of Japanese firms, the effects of competition on industrial competitiveness, and the relations between innovation and market structure from an international perspective. New findings have been indicated.
