A Study Aimed at Developing a Practical Way to Teach Linguistic Politeness of Japanese

本研究的目的是开发一种有效的方法来指导日本国内和国外的日本礼貌。首先，我们丰富了教材的内容，以增加各种背景的日语学习者的理解。接下来，我们编写了一本教师手册，其中包括日本社会的解释和日本礼貌的特点，以便日本教师可以有效地使用教材。最后，我们将教材和教师手册翻译成英文、中文和韩文。教科书和教师手册已经出版，并发送到日本国内外的一些大学。此外，我们还在伦敦大学、仁川大学和上海外国语大学的会议上发表了演讲。

The purpose of this project is to develop an effective way to instruct Japanese politeness both within and outside Japan. First, we enriched the content of teaching materials so as to increase the understanding of Japanese learners of a wide variety of backgrounds. Next, we wrote out a teacher's manual which includes explanations for Japanese society and distinguishing characteristics of Japanese politeness so that Japanese teachers can use the teaching materials effectively. Finally, we made a complete translation of the teaching materials and the teacher's manual into English, Chinese and Korean. The textbook and the teacher's manual have been published and sent to some universities both within and outside Japan. Furthermore, we gave a presentation at a conference in University of London, University of Incheon, and Shanghai International Studies University.
