项目摘要

A major purpose of this study is to examine experimentally some issues of picture perception. In first part of this study, the effectiveness of texture gradient, which is one of pictorial cues, was investigated. The results of experiments showed that texture gradient was effective to the perception of relative height. This new finding was published in Perception. In final part of this study, the relationship between picture perception and shape constancy was examined. The results of experiments suggest that the mechanism of shape constancy was unsuitable to picture perception.

本研究的主要目的是通过实验研究图像感知的一些问题。在本研究的第一部分，研究了纹理梯度作为图像线索之一的有效性。实验结果表明，纹理梯度对相对高度的感知是有效的。这项新发现发表在《知觉》杂志上。在本研究的最后一部分，研究了图像感知与形状恒常性之间的关系。实验结果表明，形状恒常性机制不适合图像感知。
