Study on the problems of road traffic and risk managements during the period of Foot-Mouth-Disease in Miyazaki

2010年，宫崎县发生口蹄疫疫情，道路上设置了403个车辆消毒点。然而，当时担心交通挤塞可能是路边消毒造成的。本研究分析了江野县川米米镇、江野市和宫城县半径0.5公里、1公里、3公里、5公里、10公里、20公里范围内道路的地理分布，并利用交通普查对半径5公里范围内道路的拥堵程度进行了检验。结果，这些数据被发现对规划消毒点的布局很有用。此外，分析表明，在控制交通的同时，在半径5公里的范围内设置消毒点是可能的，因为当地政府有大约10个消毒点的库存资源。

In 2010, Foot-and-Mouth Disease occurred in Miyazaki Prefecture and 403 disinfecting points for vehicles were set on the road. However, at that time, it was concerned that the traffic congestions might be induced by the roadside disinfection. This study analyzed the geographical distribution of the roads which run across the areas around 0.5, 1, 3, 5, 10, 20km radius from the disease points in Kawaminami Town, Ebino City and Miyakonojo City, and examined the congestion degree of roads within the 5km radius using the Traffic Census. As a result, the data was found useful for planning the layout of the disinfection points. Further, the analyses reveal that it is possible to set the disinfecting points in the area of 5km radius while regulating the traffic, as there are resources in stock in the local government for about ten disinfecting points.
