In this research, we proposed a simplified propulsion performance estimation method for Eco-Friendly Navigation Planning Support System, a type of weather routing systems. The existing method needs hull shape documents, but the documents is generally considered as trade secrets. The proposed method is applicable for ships whose general characteristics (at least Length, Breadth, depth) are known.We proposed the method and a program which contains calculating formulas to estimate wind, wave resistance coefficients easily with several values of ship's general characteristics.We evaluate the method by using a merchant ship. We found quite little difference of fuel consumption reduction effects and vessel speed estimation accuracy between the proposed and the existing method.
