Crosscultural Study of autism: Conversation between mother and child

本研究调查了高功能自闭症谱系障碍（HFASD）儿童在跨语言回答“是”/“否”问题时比回答“是”/“否”问题更困难的假设。本研究调查台湾儿童与母亲之间的对话，并检视儿童在半结构化环境中对母亲问题的反应是否适当。对12名年龄在7.1 ~ 14.9岁的台湾HFASD患儿与12名年龄、性别、智商、平均言语长度相匹配的正常发育（TD）患儿进行比较。与TD儿童相比，HFASD儿童对whi问题的回答比A-not-A和选择题的回答更不充分或不恰当。台湾HFASD儿童与日本儿童相比，在回答母亲的“为什么”问题上有更大的困难。

The present study investigated the hypothesis that children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (HFASD) have a greater difficulty in responding to Wh- than Yes/No questions across languages.Conversation between Taiwanese children and their mothers were investigated and children's response adequacy to maternal questions in a semi-structured setting were examined. Twelve Taiwanese children with HFASD, ranging in age from 7.1 to 14.9 years old, were compared with 12 typically developing (TD) children matched on age, sex, IQ and mean length of utterance. Compared to TD children, HFASD children produced more inadequate or inappropriate response to Wh-questions than A-not-A and Choice questions.Taiwanese HFASD children share a greater difficulty in responding to maternal Wh-questions with their Japanese counterparts.
