Analysis of rhythmic structures of real-time communication

研究了听觉时间知觉与视觉时间知觉的关系。在短于1秒的时间间隔内，在听觉模态中经常观察到的（连续）填充持续时间也在视觉模态中建立起来，使用了一种新的刺激模式，其中使用了随机点图形。从脑科学和心理物理学相结合的观点出发，研究了以声音爆发为标志的两个相邻时间间隔是如何被感知为相等或不相等的。研究比较了日语、英语和汉语三种语言环境下婴儿言语的节奏模式。英语言语交际的多模态分析尚处于试验阶段。

The relationship between auditory time perception and visual time perception was investigated. The (continuously-)filled-duration as observed frequently in the auditory modality for time intervals shorter than 1 s was established also in the visual modality utilizing a new type of stimulus patterns in which random-dot figures were used. How two adjacent time intervals marked by sound bursts were perceived as equal or unequal was investigated from a viewpoint on which brain science and psychophysics are merged. Rhythmic patterns of infants' speech in the linguistic environments of Japanese, English, and Chinese were studied and compared. Multimodal analyses of English speech communication are on a pilot stage.
