项目摘要

「読書:島崎藤村・中上健次の文学と被差別部落民」博士論文がテーマにした差別問題を考え直しながら、ほかの二人の作家の大江健三郎と村上春樹の作品を読書した。島崎藤村研究は、最近の『破戒』論は絶版、改訂、初版復原を取り上げた評論を検討した。被差別部落の定義はそれぞれの時代と読書界によって変わってくる。中上健次の『紀州-r木の国・根の国物語』の他に小説、発言、作品に対する評論を検討した。大江健三郎の作品の中、『個人的な体験』、『ヒロシマ・ノート』をはじめ、「奇妙な仕事」、「飼育」、『芽むしり仔撃ち』『ピンチランナー調書』『新しい人よ眼ざめよ』などを検討した。大江健三郎の作品をテーマにした評論も検討した。村上春樹の作品の中、主に長編小説(『羊をめぐる冒険』、『世界の終りとハードボイルド・ワンダーランド』、『ノルウェイの森』、『ねじまき鳥クロニクル』、『海辺のカフカ』、『1Q84』など)を検討した。『神の子どもたちはみな踊る』の短編集の小説はどのように阪神大震災とオウム真理教の地下鉄サリン事件に関連しているか、検討し続けた。この四人の作家の作品の中、個人と社会(家族を含めて)の関係を比較すると、内面と外面、仲間と他人、被害者と加害者がいろいろな面で描写されている。しかし、様々な小説では、語り手と小説家、あるいは、主人公と読者の区別をしにくくなるほど、現実の世界と文学の世界が接近するだろう。東日本大震災、福島原発事故以降、過去、現在、将来に関する現実事情や真実の情報をどのように描写されているかにも係る課題だと思う。
