项目摘要

研究目的は、日本と韓国の定型発達児と発達性読み書き障害児の読み書きにかかわる認知能力を比較検討することで、日本語と韓国語の読み書き習得にかかわる認知能力の貢献度に文字体系がどのような影響を及ぼすのか調べることであった。現在までは、主に韓国語の読み書きにかかわる認知能力を検討し、国際誌や日本での論文誌、韓国での論文誌へ掲載した。具体的に、韓国語話者児童を対象に、ハングル読み書きの背景となる認知能力の発達的変化を横断的研究として検討すること、そして韓国における音読成績低下児童の認知特徴を検討することであった。その結果、ハングルは習得が比較的易しいと今まで思われていたにもかかわらず、本研究から、知能は十分に高くともハングル習得が困難な小学生が少なくないことが明らかになり、その背景となる認知能力としては視覚認知能力や語彙力、音韻処理能力がかかわっていた。この結果は、英語圏での結果とは異なり、日本語漢字習得に関係する能力と近い結果であった。使用言語により異なる結果であることから、各言語において研究が行われるべきであることが示唆されたのではないかと思われる。今まで、ハングルにおいては、音読獲得の背景となる認知能力の発達的変化について調べた研究はほとんど見当たらない点や書字にかかわる認知能力の検討を行った研究が非常に少ない点などから、今回のデータはハングル読み書き習得における基礎的なデータとして有用に参考できる資料となると考える。現在、日本のデータに関しても、受入研究者や同じ研究室の研究者の協力を得てデータ入力が終わり、統計解析を行っているところである。今後、韓国と日本の児童の読み書き習得には、どのような能力が重要であり、その相対的な重要度が学年によってどのように変化していくのかを各言語圏別に検討する予定である。また、発達性読み書き障害児の比較検討に関しては、さらにデータの数を増やして、統計解析を行う予定である。
