项目摘要

本年度は、報告者が所属する北海道大学大学院を研究拠点に活動を行い、国外学会発表1回、国内資料調査3回、国外資料調査2回を遂行した。投稿論文も1本掲載が決定した。以下、研究内容毎に整理して研究実施状況を報告する。まず、日本側が朝鮮に対して行った調査事業のうち、文化方面(風俗習慣)について調査・研究した。統治を目的とした調査事業は、政策立案に先立って行われたものであり、植民地政策の検討のためにはまずいかなる調査が行われたのかを系統的に把握する必要があると考えたためである。しかし、植民地期朝鮮の風俗習慣に関する調査資料の検討はおろか、所在状況の把握もなされていないのが現状である。そこで、報告者は、統監府・朝鮮総督府という日本の行政機関が、朝鮮に対してどのような目的で、何を対象に風俗習慣の調査を行ったのか、その史的変遷を明らかにした。この研究成果として、2013年6月に日韓次世代学術フォーラムにて口頭発表し、これに修正・加筆を加えて論文を完成させ、2014年3月に『次世代人文社会研究』に掲載された。次に、昨年度から資料収集していた総督府の民間信仰に関する政策(1920年代)についての研究を一通り完成させた。本研究では、特に宗教政策との関連から、1920年代以降の民間信仰への政策緩和について検討した。1920年代に設立された最も代表的な巫覡団体である崇神人組合を事例に、その設立背景と活動内容を明らかにした。設立背景としては、1919年の三・一運動を機に、「類似宗教」化の促進により、巫俗(朝鮮の民間信仰)が「類似宗教」として管理統制されることになり、崇神人組合も類似宗教としての公認を受けて活動を行っていたことが分かった。その一方で、植民地権力による巫俗団体の類似宗教化は、巫覡に対して構造的な金銭搾取のシステム、または祈祷行為の統制のシステムをつくりだしたという側面も持っていた。
