项目摘要

本年度は、本研究課題の最終年度にあたることから、これまでの研究成果を総括することに努めた。主な研究実績は次のとおりである。(1)現存する「狭衣物語歌集」の調査を継続するとともに、その成果を総体的にまとめた。(2)狭衣物語の秘説として伝授されてきた「狭衣三箇秘訣切紙」を考究した。(3)狭衣物語の古筆切を収集、分析を行った。(4)狭衣物語受容の諸相を総合的に考察した。以上の成果は、適宜、論文や学会発表として公開した。狭衣物語とは、それじたいで成り立つような、また、固定化されたものではありえない。時代や享受者に応じて、異なる姿を見せるものであり、それらが総体となって、ひとつの狭衣物語なるものを形成していると考えられる。その狭衣物語のありようを総合的に究明するためには、やはり、個々の様態を慎重に見つめていくことにしか、その方法を見いだすことはできないはずである。本研究課題においては、狭衣物語にかかわる個々の資料をとりあげて検討し、その性質を明らかにしようと取り組んできた。狭衣物語が読み継がれてきた過程を具体的に示し、背景を明らかにすることによって、狭衣物語なるものに迫ろうとしてきたのである。狭衣物語と併記されることもある源氏物語と比較すれば、狭衣物語の受容資料は極めて限られているものの、それでも、検討に値する多くの資料が残されていることは事実である。現存資料の発見や調査が、如何に狭衣物語を考究するうえで重要な論点を提起するかを示し、狭衣物語受容の考究によって、この物語の文学史上の位置づけがいっそう明確なものとなることを明らかにした。
