1. 本研究は、狭衣物語の200本を超える現存諸本の悉皆調査を実施することによって、錯綜する本文内容を整備しつつ、複数の諸本を総体的に捉えた新たな作品読解の視点を提示することを目的としたものである。本年度は、狭衣物語現存諸本の悉皆調査に先だって、『日本古典籍総合目録データベース』（『国書データベース』）や各機関刊行目録、中田剛直『校本狭衣物語』（全3巻、桜楓社、1976年～1980年）、さらには、売り立て目録などを用いて、概要調査を実施した。2. とりわけ、本研究の基盤になると思われる鎌倉時代、室町時代書写の諸本のうち、複数の諸本を調査した。また、学界未紹介の鎌倉時代書写の写本にも接することができ、いくつかの新見を発見することが確認できた。3. 狭衣物語の本文研究に資する目的として、狭衣物語に大きな影響を与えた平安時代中期成立の源氏物語の本文研究を実施した。源氏物語の底本として多く選択される大島本とその他の諸本との、本文異同をめぐる問題を考察した。この成果は、既に論文としてまとめており、次年度に刊行される予定である。4. 狭衣物語の本文研究に資する目的として、狭衣物語と同じ平安時代後期成立の寝覚物語の本文研究を実施した。寝覚物語の善本のひとつである島原本にみられる不審箇所の校訂に関するものであり、諸本の本文と、その読みをめぐる問題を考察した。この成果は、学術論文「寝覚物語本文整定試案―巻四「いみじきことどもの乱れ出で来て」考―」として報告することができた。
