Development of a guideline to reduce adverse events in pediatric sedation

这项研究的目的是为检查和手术中更安全的儿科镇静实践制定指南。通过对国内不良事件的根本原因分析，以及美国、英国、法国等国儿科镇静指南、实践体系和教育的国际比较，我们认为风险评估、镇静前禁食、监测和应急处理是镇静的关键步骤，并起草了一份多学科大学医院的实践指南和示范教育内容。研究还发现，发展教育和重组镇静实践系统以及指南中对提供者所需的知识、技能和过程的描述，对于更安全的实践至关重要。

The aim of this study is to develop a guideline for safer practice of pediatric sedation for examinations and procedures. Based on the root cause analysis of domestic adverse events, and international comparison of guidelines, practice system and education pertaining pediatric sedation in the United States, Great Britain, and France, we identified risk assessment, pre-sedation fasting, monitoring, and emergency management to be the critical steps in sedation and drafted a practice guideline and a model educational content for a multi-disciplinary university hospital. It was also found that it is crucial for safer practice to develop education and to restructure the practice system of sedation along with the description of the desirable knowledge, skills and processes of the providers in the guideline.
